Maddison is an Office Administration Trainee hosted by Ray White Keatley.
From the beginning Maddy has been a great worker. She is willing to learn and readily applies what she has learnt to her role. She has confidence in her ability and this shows through the level of quality work she produces.
She has stepped up and filled roles when staff have been on leave, with her capable skills and maturity giving her Host no concerns about her ability to do this.
Maddy works very well with minimum supervision and sets a cracking pace.
Her initiative and ability to problem solve is described as phenomenal and she has been a huge asset to the business.
Maddy is unable to be here tonight as she has begun study at University since completing her Traineeship, so to accept the award on her behalf is her mother Gina McDonald.
Even though Maddy was unable to attend the awards ceremony, she had sent this pre-prepared message:
In 2016 as part of my gap year I undertook a traineeship through GTE at Ray White Keatley.
During my traineeship I learnt many new skills, some of which included communication skills, handling customer complaints, new computer software skills, handling money, banking/financial aspects as well as both rentals and sales roles.
In particular working with rentals has helped me a lot and has provided me with the knowledge to be able to successfully gain my own rental here in Melbourne, where I have relocated, to study at university.
I am very grateful to have had such a great experience, being able to work with such amazing people and having learnt many new work and life skills. I would recommend undertaking a traineeship to anyone looking to take a gap year, or even those who are looking for work skills.
Undertaking this traineeship prepared me for a world beyond school and allowed me to develop life skills that are sometimes not taught in school, like working in a team environment, dealing with different personalities and problem solving with real people, to come to a good outcome.
I personally believe that a traineeship has prepared me for the workforce, as well as giving me a realistic view of what it is like in the workforce which will put me in a strong stead for any future part-time work which I may obtain and more importantly, for when I leave university to hopefully move into my desired occupation, of Speech Pathology.
I would like to thank GTE for helping me gain this Traineeship and I would like to thank Ray White Keatley for allowing me the opportunity to work for them, providing me with their patience, work skills, knowledge, support and friendship. – Maddison McDonald
